‘The Challenge’

An interesting circular route starting from Newtown Park to the highest point on the Kerry Ridgeway (510m). Gaining 700m of ascent on the way, you finish back at the park completing the approx. 14mile walk. Ideal for people training for The Cross Wales Walk. £50 per person.

Strenuous walk – 14.5 miles Newtown to Kerry Ridgeway walk – A beautiful and varied walk, it reaches a height of 501 m on the Ridgeway and the whole walk has a 699m height again. The bulk of the walk is done on reaching the ridgeway at 8.5 miles with only one climb on the way back. Fantastic views of Newtown and the Vale of Kerry. On a good day there are fabulous views of Snowdonia from the ridgeway, where we will have lunch. Depending on the weather it can be quite exposed on the ridgeway. We should get back around 16:30.  Outdoor clothing is required and full waterproofs, your own packed lunch, snacks and drinks.
